Turning Retaliation into Fuel for Redemption
Jesus does not tell us to turn the other cheek, bear another’s burden and love others despite their behavior in order to get us hurt. These directions are never about suffering. Jesus wept over suffering. Rather, Jesus is simply asking us to do what He did. Use the evil of the world to offer redemption to those who don’t deserve it.
