The Sermon on the Mount

Matthew 5:1-3 – The Poor in Spirit.  Jesus’ sermon is the Constitution of the Kingdom of God. He lays out what our lives following God should look like. It is directly contrary to the ways of the Pharisees. It is also conflicting with what our flesh wants us to do. It, therefore, can only be accomplished through the Holy Spirit after we realize that we cannot do it on our own.  We start our walks with Jesus getting blessed by Him when we understand that we are truly poor in spirit.
